Hey Everyone, Sarah here,
I have to admit, I’m in love with the Paleo diet so much so that i’ve been eating Paleo for around three years now!
I’ve gotta admit that sometimes is can be a little hard to follow this diet with so much crap out there in the food-universe.
That’s why I believe having a dedicated cookbook is essential when your eating paleo. Why?
It takes all the guess work out of what you can and can’t eat and ensures you stock to the diet.
One of the first paleo cookbooks I ever bought was The Paleo Cookbook that has been around since 2007.
Checkout my honest review on what I think of this product.
What’s in The Paleo Cookbook Series?
You receive two books when you buy The Paleo Cookbook, or should I say The Paleo Cookbooks. Between the two books you get a massive 310 recipes broken down into eight specific categories.
The categories are;
Fish and Seafood
There are also five bonus categories between the two books. Those categories are;
One thing I always look for when buying a product like this is how well the information is laid out and broken up. I don’t want to be sifting through pages and pages of info to find a specific recipe.
The Paleo Cookbooks are well laid out and the breakdown into categories makes each recipe very easy to find
The recipes are easy to follow which is very important, particularly to those just starting out with Paleo.
Importantly, the recipes are not overly complicated. So your not going to get any surprises when it comes to the ingredients.
Everything needed can easily be found at the local supermarket.
The variety of recipes on offer is great. There are meals for vegetarians and you’ll also find a good selection of ethnic meals.
Bring on the Bonuses Baby!
Included with the Paleo cookbooks are three bonuses
Bonus #1 – One month meal planner with full color photographs of each recipe. The planner utilises 125 from the book to ensure you’ve got great variety in your diet and you don’t get bored. If you don’t like one of the recipes on the planner just swap it over with one of the others from the book
Bonus #2 – Access to full color pictures of each recipe from the first editions of the book. Not a huge amount of value here but at least you get an idea of what the meals should look like.
Bonus #3 – Is another e-book titled ‘Herbs and Spices – Using Seasonings in a Paleo Friendly Kitchen’. I’m a big fan of this one. We all know that Paleo can sometimes get a little boring. The addition of specific herbs and spices can really lift the flavour of a meal
The Paleo cookbooks are really great value and you get a wide variety of recipes on offer which are sure to please the biggest Paleo enthusiast. The recipes are easy to follow and you should have no trouble with shopping for the required ingredients.
You also get a 90 day money back guarantee. In my mind, that’s a big show of faith from the author that there is real value to be found here.
For only $37 you really can’t go wrong here.
The Not So Good Stuff
I would have liked to have seen preparation times listed for each recipe. If you are time poor, you want to make sure that you are not standing in the kitchen for an hour preparing food.
Additionally, more ethnic recipes would have been great. There are a few listed and they are delicious but I would have liked to have seen more.
Overall i’ve given The Paleo Cookbooks 4 and a half stars.
